About Us

The Myrtle Beach Kennel Club is an AKC-licensed All-Breed Dog Club located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (USA). Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand community are located on the beautiful northeast coast of South Carolina, just south of the Cape Fear region of North Carolina and just north of the historic cities of Charleston and Georgtown, S.C.

Our members come from all walks of life and represent a wide variety of breeds. Many club members are actively involved in AKC competition events such as conformation, obedience, agility trials, and spending their weekends at events throughout the USA. Other members have their faithful dog at home and belong to the club to learn more about dogs and for the camaraderie among our members.

Above all else our club community strives to further the following objectives:

• To advance the best interests of the dog and the dog fancier in all matters;
• To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs;
• To encourage and support dog shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club;
• To foster and maintain friendship among the membership and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials;
• To encourage the training of all dogs for competition and good canine citizenship;
• To provide educational opportunities of interest to dog fanciers.

Myrtle Beach Kennel Club members are expected to participate in Club activities, serve on committees, and assist with the Annual All-Breed Dog Show and Obedience and Agility Trial. To be considered for membership, applicants are required to:

• attend a minimum of 3 meetings
• have the written sponsorship of 2 MBKC members in good standing
• Annual membership dues are $15 for an individual membership and $25 for a family membership
